Forget the guitars.
Forget the drums.
The heavy metal rolling into McGregor this weekend has wheels. 🚜
On Saturday, October 3, McGregor’s Landing will become a playground of a much bigger variety when Heavy Metal Playground rolls into town from 3:00~5:00 p.m.
And for the kids who can’t pass a big truck, tractor or piece of equipment without stopping to stare, this one might be worth getting a little excited about.
Families will have the opportunity to get an up~close look at some of the machines that normally have to be admired from a distance ~ including fire trucks, semis, tractors and construction equipment. Kids can climb aboard, explore and learn more about the machines and some of the people who operate them.
But underneath all that heavy metal is something with a pretty big heart.
The event supports Smith & Little Bulldog Childcare Centers, turning an afternoon of enormous tires, steering wheels and curious kids into an opportunity to support childcare in the area.
And maybe that’s what makes events like this so much fun.
To an adult, it might just be a truck they’ve passed a hundred times.
To a child standing beside a tire nearly as tall as they are?
That’s an adventure.
And somewhere in McGregor Saturday afternoon, don’t be surprised if a little one climbs down from one of those big machines already convinced they’ve found their future career. ❤️
