A Little Mystery Is Coming to Decorah: William Kent Krueger Visits Saturday

DECORAH, IOWA ~ There may be a little mystery brewing upstairs in downtown Decorah Saturday morning.

Minnesota author William Kent Krueger is coming to Decorah on Saturday, August 29, for a morning celebrating the release of his newest Cork O’Connor mystery, God’s Country.

The free event begins at 11 a.m. in the upstairs event room at T~Bock’s and will include an author presentation, question~and~answer session and book signing.

God’s Country was released August 18 and is the 22nd book in Krueger’s long~running Cork O’Connor mystery series.

Krueger has built a wide readership through both the Cork O’Connor mysteries and standalone novels including Ordinary Grace, This Tender Land and The River We Remember.

Saturday’s gathering is sponsored by the Oneota Valley Literary Foundation, with support from T~Bock’s and Dragonfly Books. The event is part of the foundation’s author series, which brings writers of different genres to Northeast Iowa for conversations about books and writing.

And perhaps that’s one of the nicest things about an author event in a small community.

A book usually begins as one person sitting somewhere quietly putting words on a page.

Eventually those words find their way into the hands of readers.

Saturday morning, some of those readers get to sit across from the person who put them there, and ask a few questions of their own.
